Once, we received a task: to import gas cylinders from China to Russia, and then send them back. The cylinders contained hazardous gas, and the speed and precision of delivery were critical for the client's operations. We had to work through dozens of shipping lines and cover over 6,000 km. The cargo was transloaded from a container onto a truck and delivered promptly.
Returning the empty cylinders turned out to be more difficult: they still had residual gas, and terminals in the Far East refused to accept such dangerous cargo for export. We reviewed all options – changing ports of departure and destination, switching the delivery mode to truck, direct loading of the cargo onto the vessel... The optimal solution turned out to be degassing. We removed the gas residues, obtained a safety certificate, and sent the cargo to China.
